It's back to school time!
Holy moly 3 weeks since my last post??? The dog days of summer have really flown by.
Let's see, what's new.....classes are back in session on campus. It's nice to see students all over and feel back in the college campus environment. Today is the 2nd day of classes so there's still some uncertainty in the new students.
With the students back on campus our security alerts are starting to increase in number. The newer students are still learning our processes so there's a lot of false positive alerts.
Golf season is almost done. I'm thinking the weather will be good until 1 Oct. After that it's hit or miss. We play one more big event at our home course and it's a good one. It's the annual Oktoberfest event and that is always packed out.
I'm starting to feel really good about my swing just in time to stop playing for 6 months. Of course.
My dad has been gone for a little over 6 years now. It is heartbreaking not being able to call him for our regular Sunday talks. Or play golf. Or go out on the lake and fish for a few hours. His birthday is coming up in late Oct. Probably won't be able to go golfing on that day but I will if the weather is nice enough.
Work is work. Next month I am attending a security event in NYC. Wife is hopefully going to meet me there after and we are going to have dinner in the city. If we get bold enough we both might call out from work the next day and get a hotel room for a night or 2. We've been talking about a weekend in the city for a while but with the pandemic we haven't pulled the trigger yet.
Not much else is going on. Pretty soon I will need to gather my winter clothes and make sure I have everything I need. Hopefully I find everything. Every year I lose something and have to go buy more. I've got like 8 pairs of gloves floating around.
I'm on call this week so hopefully the alerts are few and easy.
Until next time.......
