Time is flying fast!

Can't believe it's been a week since my last writing. My son is still visiting. He flies home Fri morning. This past weekend we went to Philadelphia for the day and had a great time. He loves history so we took him to a lot of historical sites in Philly. It was the first time I'd ever seen the Liberty Bell in person.

We also got to go through the exhibits at the American Revolution museum. They had an exhibit displaying the tent George Washington lived in during the Revolutionary War. It was awesome!!! Hard to believe it is about 250 years old, give or take. And was actually used by our nation's first president!

I'm back on call so there won't be too many travel trips this week. I started teaching him some basic drill movements yesterday so that he can practice them before he ships to basic training in May.

Not much else going on. Just the last few days of my son's visit, then things will basically return to normal here. I'm very happy he was able to visit for so long. I'm not sure when I will see him again for an actual visit. I will go to his boot camp graduation this summer. If his tech training school puts him in Virginia we will go down and see him as often as we can, most likely for weekend visits while he is still in some sort of "student" status. After that it will depend on where his first duty assignment is. We are hoping for a nice overseas assignment like Italy or even Japan. That would be awesome! We would definitely visit him in Italy. Japan might take a lot more coordination but we will see what we can do.

It's been a very fun few weeks seeing him and the daughter. She is hoping to be able to come back in Dec around Christmas. She is really wanting to travel by train next time and stay for a few extra days. When i go to son's boot camp graduation I am taking the train. It's a 19 hour trip so I will be getting a roomette so I can have a bed to sleep part of it away. I am really looking forward to it.

Other than that all is well and normal. I don't lead much of an exciting life so there's generally not much to report.

Until next time....
